There's absolutely nothing on the car's Ford authorized body that could be considered anything more than shelf wear. Its rich Silver urethane is bright, glossy, and smooth enough to be fresh out of the paint shop. Its Shelby Blue stripes are so clean and straight you'd think they're interwoven behind the body's hard parts. And overall, this GT500KR is a super slick speed machine which conveys both timeless curb appeal and a premium sense of drivability!

It's hard to argue with the killer good looks of Ford's fifth generation Mustang; and when Carroll Shelby bolts up a few of his hottest styling enhancements, the car's visual impact hits a whole new level! Up front, a redesigned bumper cover hangs a GT500-exclusive grille between a fully functional GT500KR hood, familiar black bucket headlights, halogen fog lamps and a carbon fiber air splitter. At the sides of the car, clean silver fenders hang prominent Cobra emblems and fade-free “GT500KR” tape stripes between carbon fiber-capped mirrors and black factory rocker panels. At the top of the car, a pristine factory greenhouse hangs light factory tint under traditional, Shelby blue racing stripes. Ford's reborn GT500 celebrated one of the most successful partnerships in performance car history; and thanks to further tweaks by legendary firm Shelby Automobiles, this world class 'King of the Road' version holds absolutely nothing back! Take a look under the car's lightweight carbon fiber hood and you'll find a blown V8 mod motor that was heavily influenced by Ford's own GT super car program. Utilizing an iron block with a forged steel crank, forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, aluminum heads and dual overhead camshafts, this rowdy 5.4 liter pavement buster makes 540 horsepower and 510 lb./ft. of torque all the while providing surprising efficiency and a docile nature. Twist the key and Ford Racing's revised cold air intake system surges to life sending a symphony of baritone notes down a dual tuned Ford Racing exhaust system that's fitted with an X-pipe crossover and chrome-plated tips. Goose the throttle and an Eaton M122 supercharger combines with a Pro-Cal performance tune to zing the silky engine towards redline. Aesthetically, this Mustang's spotless bay looks assembly line fresh, not displaying that much flash for such a pedigreed car. But to anyone who knows anything about performance, the big blower at the top of the block, the machined Shelby bits and the silver SVT trinkets are all dead giveaways that they're in the presence of something special!

Straight from Dearborn the D2C Mustang platform is a very capable foundation; and with a few upgrades from Ford's SVT division, it becomes a true force to be reckoned with! At the front of the car, a fully independent suspension makes good use of new shock valving, revised springs, performance tuned struts and giant 14 inch vented discs which are clamped by four piston Brembo calipers. And at the back of the car, a three link solid axle rear end makes good use of a familiar limited slip differential, revised springs, performance tuned shocks and two piston factory calipers which clamp equally impressive 12 inch discs. That tight suspension is aided by GT500KR-exclusive axle geometry, an SVT strut tower brace, stiffer sway bars, a standard antilock system, and standard traction control; all of which are very welcome if you push the car anywhere near its limits. Sending the engines power to the ground is a slick shifting Tremec 6-speed transmission which spins torque through a GT500 single speed driveshaft to big 3.73 gears. And all this proven hardware rides on an awesome set of forged 18 inch Shelby wheels which spin super sticky 255/45 front and 285/40 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 radials around locking chrome lug nuts.

Inside this Mustang you'll find a comfortable and stylish cockpit that's ready for both short stoplight sprints and long road trips. At the center of the car leather-lined, Cobra-branded bucket seats, which have been augmented with Carroll Shelby headrests, fit like a glove. Inside the dash, an electro luminescent instrument panel, which features Ford's infinitely variable MyColor accent lighting, rides behind attractive factory trim that's complete with a Shelby Automobiles build plaque. Below that dash, a red-stitched Ford Racing short throw shifter looks perfect between a padded console and a powerful Shaker 500 audio and DVD-based navigation system. And at the floor like-new carpet, which is protected by Shelby branded floor mats, stretches between slick SVT sill plates. Behind the cockpit, a factory finished trunk features ample storage space for a pretty impressive amount of luggage. In front of the driver, a factory steering wheel spins a red-stitched leather rim and redundant radio controls around a Cobra-branded horn button.
