Awesome Camaro Resto-Mod 383 Stroker V8 Tremec 5-speed PS PB A/C
The second-generation Camaro is one of those timeless designs that looks good no matter how it's built. Stock, modified, race, pro-touring, whatever, the clean lines and balanced stance on 'hugger' cars create classic swagger that's an excellent platform for major modification. And best of all, universal appeal and relatively high production numbers mean the Camaro has one of the largest networks of aftermarket support in the collector car hobby. Born from that awesome combination of appeal and support, this killer F2 resto-mod mixes custom aesthetics with serious performance to put a 21st century twist on an old school favorite!
CUSTOM APPEAL
It's hard not to smile when you see a Camaro this cool! Decked in brilliant red base that's centered on white war paint, this Chevy is the product of acute restoration that was founded on a great mix of aesthetics and streetability. At the front of the car, modern, stainless-trimmed headlights peak a standard '73 Camaro nose-clip that's finished with split-bumpers, a painted spoiler and clear parking lamps. At the middle of that clip, a stainless-trimmed, “Z28” branded grille leads a correct, 1973-exclusive header emblem, which fronts a steel Cowl Induction Hood. Behind that hood, correct glass, laced with a factory-spec antenna, leads a stainless-trimmed greenhouse that's reflected in factory mirrors. Below those mirrors, stylish rocker trim joins clear marker lamps to complement bright door handles and sporty “Z28” fender badging. And at the back of the car, a correct ducktail hangs a correct “Z28” emblem above a seamless roll pan, classy Rally Sport taillights and a wide bumper.
STROKED AND STOKED
Often referred to as 'the hood Chevrolet forgot to produce', this Camaro's cool Cowl Induction bonnet hides 383 cubic inches of sweet small block power! At the top of that stroked mill, a polished Edelbrock air cleaner funnels breeze through a duo of coated Edelbrock 4-barrels that are finished with braided hoses, Earl's fittings and a small Marshall pressure gauge. A resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake to iron Chevrolet heads, which hide under billet breathers and polished Chevrolet valve covers. Once those heads flood the cylinders, a familiar MSD distributor sequences fire through loomed 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Resultant gases are jettisoned through coated Hedman Hedders long-tubes, which perfectly contrast the block's Chevy Orange skin. Cooling is provided by a beefy aluminum radiator, which is fitted with a polished cap, a polished support and two SPAL puller fans. Billet pulleys join bright brackets to spin a polished Edelbrock water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and fluid power steering. A polished brake booster makes excellent use of a small Wilwood proportioning valve and a quality Wilwood master cylinder. Naturally, the Satin Black engine bay is trimmed with a polished latch and polished brace bars. And choice detailing includes sleeved hoses, a coated fuel pump, a trick dipstick and a billet thermostat housing.
ENJOY THE DRIVE
At the bottom of this Camaro, a tough Tremec 5-speed sends power to a Moser-capped 10-bolt. Holding that stellar drivetrain in place is a rebuilt factory suspension that's been supplemented with beefy Hotchkis sway bars. That suspension turns quick thanks to Classic Performance Products power steering. At the corners, power-assisted Wilwood calipers squeeze a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Aluminized exhaust weaves its way through an X-shaped crossover, aggressive dual-chamber mufflers and polished stainless tips. And power meets the pavement via polished Boze blades, which spin 275/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force Comp 2s in front of 295/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.
TRANS AM VIBES
Open the solid doors on this second-generation Camaro and you'll find a tasteful vinyl interior that's been cleverly customized in all the right ways. Centered in those coy components is a quartet of massaged bucket seats that look stock but certainly aren't. In front of those thrones, a '73 Trans Am dash frames '73 Trans Am telemetry above modern air conditioning and modern, direct-fit audio. Below that dash, clean carpet, protected by “Z28” branded mats, anchors a factory console around a traditional Hurst shifter. That carpet crawls to deluxe door panels that were cribbed from a '71 Firebird. And in front of the driver, a polished and bowtie-branded wheel spins a thick rim around a tilting column.
With its hot motor, great looking body and focused build, this Chevy is the very definition of storied Detroit muscle! Fully sorted and ready to cruise, it's the kind of car that's guaranteed to take your weekends to the next level! In the market for a cool classic that's ready for the cruise-in or the highway? Here it is!
