Body Off Restored F100 Big Window Restomod 351 V8 Automatic A/C
While the word “traditional” often conjures images of semi-survivors that are more tarmac than trophy, it can also stand for something truly show worthy. Timeless classics like this cool Ford F100 often feature an impressive mix of style and approachability. And with that in mind, this attractive pickup is a living example of why, decades after its creation, traditional hot rodding still enjoys a dedicated fan base. Backing professionally built Windsor power with a tough C4 3-speed, this solid resto-mod probably spent the better part of its 65 years as a stylish runabout used for work and play. And today, rolling as a certified head turner, it's poised for the spotlight and destined for the front row! Ready to step up to the charm and class that made Detroit famous? Take a close look at this all-American cruiser!
THE CANDY'S CANDY
Making its grand debut in the summer of 2020, this super cool pickup is the product of a detailed, ground-up restoration that was completed by the pros at Sparks, Nevada's B&T Custom Rod & Restoration. That first class build shines through enticing House Of Kolor Brandywine candy, which dresses gray sealer, silver sealer and four coats of base in four coats of glossy clear. And that storied pigment highlights solid panels that center great alignment under bright reflections and clean, factory-spec surfaces.
Naturally, this Ford's professional rebuild includes a roster of tasteful details. At the front of the truck, a shaved and painted grille hangs stainless-trimmed headlights above a mirrored bumper and polished parking lamps. Above that grille, a shaved and nosed hood flows to a coveted big-window cab that's centered on classy mirrors and capped wipers. At the sides of that hood, the truck's tough profile plants polished door handles above painted running boards. And at the back of those boards, a varnished and stainless-trimmed bed shades polished taillights and a second mirrored bumper that's founded on polished brackets.
THE BLUEPRINT WINDSOR
Check the candied engine bay and you'll find 351 cubic inches of proven Ford power that was professionally assembled by the techs at Kearney, Nebraska's BluePrint Engines. At the top of that fresh mill, a muted air cleaner drops wind through a coated Edelbrock 4-barrel that's sequenced to an electric choke, a coated Holley regulator and a liquid-filled Summit pressure gauge. That carb tunes a precise mixture of air and fossils for a spry Weiand intake. Fires are lit by a hot, factory-style distributor, which sequences spark between an MSD Blaster 2 coil and loomed Taylor Spiro Pro plug wires. RAB Performance serpentine components spin a color-keyed alternator opposite a color-keyed AC compressor. Coated BBK shorties make quick work of spent gases. Cooling comes courtesy of a big Cold-Case radiator, which is paired with a large electric puller fan. And choice detailing includes trick sticks, aluminum fluid reservoirs and tasteful valve covers that are dotted with a stylish Ford breather.
THE RESTO-MOD PART
Judging by appearance, this classic spent most of its blue-collar life living clean and working hard. So, when the time came for rebirth, the truck was a prime candidate for thorough modernization. Nowhere is that theme more evident than under the skin. The stout 351 sends power to a proven C4 3-speed, which spins a trusty 10-bolt axle. That smooth drivetrain pushes a nicely upgraded suspension that's led by a Speedway Motors Mustang II front-clip. Turns come easy thanks to modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to retrofitted power disc brakes. At the center of the floor, aluminized exhaust makes excellent use of welded, dual-chamber mufflers. A custom, relocated fuel tank, set up for easy conversion to EFI, stocks a solid 16 gallons of gas. And at the corners of the chassis, murdered US Mags Ramblers twist 225/65R17 Dean Tire Road Control Touring radials.
THE COMFORT FACTOR
When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a comfortable cockpit that wraps a broad factory bench in upscale vinyl. Opposite that throne, a customized dash hangs dressed Classic Instruments telemetry beside controls for Vintage Air conditioning. That attractive seat and dash combo is caged in custom carpet, a custom headliner and custom door panels that are decorated with billet cranks and billet handles. And the driver spins a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel around a modern, tilting column.
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this awesome Ford mixes timeless, all-American swagger with smooth, road ready athletics. From its glowing pigment to its customized cockpit, there simply aren't many cooler pickups out there! Call, click or visit https://www.RKMotors.com for more information.
