Ground-Up Built 210 Restomod 350 V8 5-speed A/C Mini-Tubs
Over the past few years, we've certainly seen some choice resto-mods. But this slick 210, wrapping a professionally built Chevrolet small block in striking aesthetics, is definitely one of the coolest! Fully sorted and ready to hit the road, this awesome Chevy combines solid horsepower with tailored yet aggressive swagger. And today, thanks to a detailed, ground-up restoration, not only is it a sweet place to cruise the streets, it's also an instantly recognizable head turner that could easily rule the front row. Looking for a dreamy classic that simply has it all? This awesome tri-five checks every box!
DRESSED TO IMPRESS
A hot rod post sedan that's been subjected to a detailed, ground-up restoration, this sweet cruiser is definitely built for keeps. From casual glances to long looks, the car exudes a sense of quality that comes from countless hours of work and serious credit card bills. There are no notable modifications, aside from florid yet subtle two-stage that would've been unimaginable in the mass-production world in 1956. And today, this Chevy rolls as one slick resto-mod that's right at home turning heads on the road OR claiming trophies at a show!
Not surprisingly, that unique pigment creates an excellent foundation for a select array of mirrored bolt-ons. At the front of the car, a polished bumper props polished guards in front of a fully polished grille, which sets tasteful parking lamps beneath a polished V and modern headlights. Above that grille, a familiar Chevrolet Jetbird leads a tinted greenhouse, which plants polished frames behind polished mirrors and polished wipers. At the base of that glass, a silky profile hangs traditional Speed Spears between modern GM badging, retro “Chevrolet' scripts and factory door handles that are complete with factory nail guards. And at the back of that profile, a slick power antenna shades ornate taillights, a second guarded bumper and a second polished V.
BORED AND BUILT
Hoist this 210's silky hood and you'll find 350 cubic inches of professionally built Chevrolet small block that caps a .040 overbore with hot aluminum heads. At the top of that mill, a finned air cleaner dumps wind through a coated Edelbrock carburetor that stacks braided hoses around a liquid-filled Summit pressure gauge. Under that electronically charged 4-barrel, a polished intake reflects polished and ball-milled valve covers, which are finished with a stainless breather. Coated shorty headers split loomed MSD plug wires, which siphon sparks from an MSD Pro-Billet distributor that's sequenced to an MSD Blaster 3 coil and MSD 6AL ignition. In front of those wires, proven March serpentine components spin an Edelbrock water pump between a polished alternator and a coated AC compressor. An aftermarket core support centers a color-keyed Griffin radiator between corrugated hoses, spry SPAL puller fans and a polished expansion tank. And items like a polished brake booster, a CPP master cylinder and a deep-sump oil pan round out first rate detailing.
CONQUER THE ROAD
Under this Chevy, a Wilwood hydraulic clutch kicks a proven Tremec 5-speed, which spins big, 4.11 gears inside a narrowed 12-bolt. That sorted drivetrain rides a fully rebuilt suspension, which mixes a big sway bar and tubular control arms with drop spindles, lowering blocks and Edelbrock IAS shocks. Those components, aligned with mini tubs, are led by fluid power steering and stopped by power-assisted discs and drums. At the center of the floor, aluminized exhaust pipes spent gases through tough Flowmasters and polished tips. And all that mechanical goodness rolls on polished American Racing Ansen Sprints, which spin 245/45ZR17 Goodyear Eagle GTs in front of 295/55R15 Goodyear Eagle SS Drag Radials.
LESS BLACK, MORE RED
Pop the doors and you'll find a choice custom interior that serves as the perfect accent to this Chevy's glowing pigment. Leather-wrapped benches provide big comfort for a family of passengers. Opposite those thrones, a billet-trimmed dash hangs all-new wiring behind Vintage Air conditioning, Dolphin telemetry and a small head unit that controls a Custom Autosound CD changer. At the floor, crisp Daytona Carpet floats color-keyed mats between billet pedals, a Hurst shifter and custom side panels that frame big Pioneer kick speakers. And in front of the driver, a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel laps a modern, tilting column.
With a clean restoration, fully sorted mechanicals and more style than pretty much anything on the road, this rowdy 210 is a textbook example of great value.
