Documented Ground Up Restored Camaro RS/SS 350ci V8 4-spd PS PB Deluxe Int.
Chevrolet did a lot right in the 1960s, especially when it came to the Camaro and Corvette. That's why pedigreed first-generation Camaros continue to be some of the hottest metal on the collector car market. This fully documented, first-year coupe has all the right ingredients to bring big value and even bigger appeal. For starters, it's a highly optioned car that features factory Super Sport and Rally Sport packages. It also combines desirable Bolero Red paint with a stylish Deluxe Interior. And best of all, this Chevy has been lovingly restored to almost exactly how it left the factory! In the market for a well-restored collector car that you can enjoy and build equity in? This super slick Super Sport demands your full attention!
THE CLASSY SCCA CAR
Assembled in October of 1966, and delivered to Burwell Chevrolet in Spartanburg, South Carolina, this awesome Camaro is the beneficiary of an extensive, ground-up restoration that returned the car to all its original glory. Naturally, a smooth and tightly aligned profile was rechristened with correct Bolero Red 2-stage. A retrofitted D80 spoiler nicely complements a factory Rally Sport package that included a trick hidden-headlight grille, polished rockers and upgraded lighting. Factory Super Sport trim adds a louvered hood and bright badging. And today, after spending most of its 52 years in the hands of just two owners, this panther rolls as one top-notch classic that preserves the best attributes of Chevrolet history!
SS350
Pop this coupe's SS specific hood and you'll find 350 cubic inches of original Chevrolet V8. At the top of that choice small block, a chrome-capped, single-snorkel air cleaner swirls wind in to a color-keyed intake via correct Quadrajet carburetion. At the sides of that intake, legendary Double Hump Heads hang polished valve covers over restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of those heads, a mandatory points distributor shoots spark through fresh AC Delco Premium 7mm Wires. Ancillary components are top-notch in every way, with a polished oil filler and a correctly shrouded radiator accompanying a correct Delco Moraine brake booster. Chevy Orange block skin reflects tasteful Satin Black framing. And naturally, a correct 3892657 casting number follows a correct “MS” assembly stamp and a matching 121759 partial VIN.
CLEAN AND CORRECT
The original 350 spins power to an original Muncie 4-speed that's branded with a correct 3885010 casting number, a matching 121759 partial VIN, and a 1967 (7) Muncie (P) built on October (R) 18th (18) 1966 assembly stamp. That stalwart transmission is connected to the correct HD 12-bolt axle, which spins friendly, 3.31 gears. That first-rate drivetrain is held off the ground by a rebuilt F41 Sport Suspension, which mixes factory power steering with fresh mono-leaf springs and power drum brakes. Satin Black floors frame beefy, true-dual exhaust, which is finished with a correct, transversely mounted muffler. And those floors roll on predictable Chevy Rallies, which spin D70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport redlines around dent-free trim rings and correct stainless center caps.
OPTIONED OUT
Is there a more desirable color combination than black and red? The Deluxe Black interior hiding behind this Camaro's Bolero Red doors illustrates the true, no frills intentions of Chevrolet's original pony car. Striped bucket seats look and feel fantastic. In front of those seats, a stainless-trimmed dash hangs stainless-trimmed foot pedals below rebuilt factory telemetry and an optional pushbutton radio. A correct console sports a polished Muncie shifter. That seat, dash and console trifecta is completely framed by fade-free carpet, Deluxe door panels and a straight package tray that includes a small speaker. And the driver spins a chrome-trimmed Super Sport steering wheel.
“IMPRESSIVE” is merely one word to describe this Chevy. Given the swaths of pro-tourers and resto-mods that have popped up as American muscle continues to gain popularity, having a documented, era-correct F1 is what separates the enthusiasts from the fans. If you want a classic that'll draw a crowd for reasons other than bright paint and aftermarket badges, this awesome Camaro is exactly the car you're looking for!
