----------

Like most new cars, new muscle cars have gotten quite a bit softer. Because of a broader clientele, basic build commonality and smothering safety standards, many of today's offerings perform well, but just don't feel as exciting as their rowdy ancestors. That's where the aftermarket comes in. And while this clean Camaro Super Sport may have left GM's Oshawa facility as a refined grocery getter, it's been carefully whittled into a sharply focused prizefighter thanks to $19K worth of SLP-installed upgrades. Presently, with just 2,285 original miles, thoroughly modified aesthetics and a supercharged small block that boasts 560 horsepower, the car is a brutal, vintage-sounding road rocket. And, whether you're looking for a fast turnpike cruiser or just a genuinely fun hot rod, it's attractive, well-priced entertainment!

BODYWORK/TRIM

1 of only 5 Silver Ice Metallic Camaros equipped with SLP's ZL upgrades for the 2012 model year, and the only one with a convertible roof, this awesome bowtie is a spotless and lust worthy approach to the ultimate modern enthusiast's car. Super clean 2-stage, freshly detailed with red SLP carbon fiber graphics, lends a tailored look to the car's chiseled profile, itself detailed with an SLP splitter, an SLP spoiler and an aggressive SLP diffuser. Naturally, that profile's slick, showroom-fresh fit is as close to perfect as factory fodder can get. Chrome-trimmed lighting, a black-trimmed valance and custom ornamentation combine with a GM heritage grille and optional RS headlights to highlight the previous owner's intense focus on details. And honestly, with so few miles on the clock, this pristine Chevy just hasn't had the opportunity to find any significant trouble on the street or in the ditch. It's nice to see that, in a galaxy that continues to move further and further from performance, there are still aftermarket-supported options that elevate fun and style above all else!

ENGINE

No car guy worth his salt will dispute the merit of anything with eight cylinders and a Chevrolet badge! Straight from the factory, this Super Sport makes ample power thanks to a stout, 6.2 liter L99 V8 that's based on GM's award winning LS small block. Exclusive to the automatic Camaro, the L99 utilizes aluminum casting, high-flow heads, a high-flow intake, an aggressive camshaft, offset rocker arms, upgraded fuel injectors and coil-near-plug firing to twist 10.4:1 compression into an even 400 horsepower and 410 lb./ft. of torque. Of course, as I mentioned, this Chevy is one of a select few Camaros modified by SLP. And that's how it came to be paired with a roster of first-class aftermarket componentry. Up top, an SLP Blackwing cold air induction system feeds an SLP TVS 2300 series supercharger, which utilizes a unique, 4-lobe rotor pack to back 560 horsepower with great efficiency. At the sides of the block, dynamic SLP rail covers combine with polished caps and polished dipsticks to dress things up a bit. There's an SLP strut brace that enhances both form and function. Naturally, the spotless mill features a typical OEM-level appearance that displays hardly any signs of usage. And when you twist the eager engine's key, an SLP axle-back exhaust system roars through raucous SLP Loud Mouth II mufflers!

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Take a look under this Chevy and you'll find a slick-shifting Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed that's suspended in a proven, road-ready chassis. The 6L80 is the highest capacity automatic ever installed in a GM passenger car, featuring either performance algorithm technology or, if you want to row through the gears yourself, paddle shifting. Power flows from that tough transmission to a limited-slip rear end that's fitted with friendly 3.27 gears. That drivetrain plays well with a sophisticated, Nurburgring-tested performance suspension, which mixes high quality SLP lowering springs with GM's fantastic Stabilitrak traction and stability control. Variable-ratio, speed-sensitive power steering, big Brembo calipers and Granatelli drilled and slotted rotors combine with factory ABS and electronic brake distribution to ensure this is the best handling Camaro to date. And the car's “CHEVROLET” branded calipers are fronted by 22-inch Lexanis, which spin 265/30 Pirelli P Zero Neros in front of 315/25 Pirelli P Zero Neros.

INTERIOR

Inside this pristine Camaro you'll find a factory-spec interior that displays very little wear. The car's leather, French-stitched seats are heated units that pair ornate SLP headrests with 6-way power adjustment. The dash hangs silver-trimmed gauges and a sequential SLP assembly plaque between an optional Head Up Display and standard Driver Information Center. At the center of that dash, controls for satellite-capable, MP3-compatible Boston Acoustics audio ride above factory 4-pack accessory gauges and a billet Hurst shifter. Below those gauges, premium SLP floor mats and bright Chevy sill plates protect LED-lit carpet. Opposite that carpet, a self-dimming mirror centers a standard rearview camera and GM's award-winning OnStar service in front of a power-operated top and aftermarket roll bar. In front of the driver, a leather wrapped steering wheel spins standard cruise control and redundant audio buttons around a standard tilt and telescoping column. Behind the passengers, a small trunk features enough room for a weekend's worth of luggage. And naturally, all the luxuries you'd expect in a high dollar muscle car are present and accounted for including: power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, Universal Home Remote and Remote Keyless Entry.
